Multi-media publishing made easy
NewsDirector is an easy-to-use and highly efficient NewsGate module allowing editorial users to create, edit and publish content for print and digital media. The content is organized in packages containing the content items that make up a story for a specific media.
IN NEWSDIRECTOR, USERS CAN:
- Write stories for one - or multiple media
- Create and edit text elements (tags) for specific media
- Create content packages and make them available in multiple media
- Share content items across multiple media
- Preview media-specific versions of the story
- Crop photos, write captions and create photo collections
- Preview videos included in content packages
- Modify content package matadata (e.g. turn an online story into a print story)
STORIES TARGETING SPECIFIC MEDIA
In NewsDirector, the user can:
- Create and edit stories not yet planned for a specific media or designated for one or multiple media
- Choose to either share text elements in multiple media or create individual tags for a specific media
- Choose to write the story into an article design that is previewed and selected from a list of predefined designs
CAPTIONS, CROPS AND PHOTO COLLECTIONS
- Soft crop photos for print or digital media. Multiple crops can be created for online articles
- Write captions. IPTC metadata imported with the photo can be used as a basis for writing the caption
- Create photo collections for digital media
WORKFLOW MADE EASY
When a user creates, edits and publishes content in NewsDirector, the underlying structure enabling a collaborative workflow in NewsGate is automatically created. This means, for example, when a user creates a new text in NewsDirector, a Story Folder is automatically created serving as the working environment for further work on the story, as an entry in the editorial budget, etc.
