After a thorough analysis of the market, Deutscher Fachverlag, one of the largest trade media companies in Germany and Europe, has chosen the CCI NewsGate system. The objective is to provide the editorial staff with a comfortable, efficient and future-oriented working environment for cross-media publishing
With the dramatic changes in the current media landscape, the demands on the editorial workplaces and their environments have increased considerably.
Against the backdrop of these changes, Deutscher Fachverlag has entered into an agreement for CCI NewsGate after having examined a number of alternative system vendors. Another decisive factor for this decision was the interfaces to SAP and other systems at Deutscher Fachverlag.
A key criterion for Deutscher Fachverlag when selecting a new editorial system was to have editorial staff produce content for multiple media in the most comfortable and efficient manner from one single platform.
“Our objective to serve all publication channels out of one system, thereby efficiently meeting future requirements, has lead us to this decision. Following the extensive development undertaken in the pre-press area, the new system from CCI first of all provides us with a planning tool that supports an increasingly complex daily editorial operation,” said Peter Kley, CFO at Deutscher Fachverlag.
The concept of a single platform for publishing to both print and online media is not new in the market. However, a decisive factor for Deutscher Fachverlag was the fact that CCI NewsGate offers a mature solution already in operation in a number of media houses.
“It is greatly satisfying for us to see that the concepts and functionalities of CCI NewsGate match closely the demands of modern media houses like Deutscher Fachverlag. Success for us means providing the technological platform that allows our partners to develop their business also in times of great changes in the marketplace,” said Dan Korsgaard, CEO of CCI.
Deutscher Fachverlag produces many products and finding a same system environment that embraces the variations in their editorial workflows, as CCI NewsGate can, was a priority when selecting an editorial content management system. Moreover, NewsGate is considered by Deutscher Fachverlag to be the flexible and future-oriented platform that will enable them to publish to media channels that may not even exist today.
The CCI NewsGate system will be implemented at Deutscher Fachverlag in three phases starting with print, adding online and in a final step implementing a fully converged workflow.
Verlagsgruppe Deutscher Fachverlag, Frankfurt am Main, has a staff of 865 in Germany and in a number of subsidiaries abroad.
