CCI NewsDesk
Scalable Tomorrow’s tomorrow
Like any capital investment, choosing an editorial system should be as much about satisfying future needs as it is about meeting today’s requirements. Publishers looking for return on investment demand that returns increase exponentially over time. The CCI NewsDesk System of today is created with tomorrow in mind.
CCI NewsDesk is a completely scalable editorial solution that is based upon a unique open architecture. Despite uncertainties as we move into the future, CCI NewsDesk allows publishers to be more agile by placing them in a position to quickly adapt to new technologies.
CCI Europe has developed CCI NewsDesk to maximize the use of data contained in the system. All import and export of data into and out of the system is aligned with current industry standards. CCI Europe works with the governing bodies responsible for establishing industry specific standards to ensure their applicability to CCI Europe and its business partners.
As such, CCI NewsDesk supports traditional newspaper industry standard file formats as well as new industry standards such as XML, NITF, HTML, NewsML, etc. The CCI System can also be pre-configured to use some of these standards to facilitate the import of wire text, sports tables, financial tables, photos, graphics, as well as classified and display advertisements.
CCI NewsDesk is built to be an integral part of a newspaper’s production environment, and as such the system can combine with classified ad and display ad systems to provide publishers with a complete page overview, rather than just the editorial components.
CCI NewsDesk is all about choice. The freedom to choose the internal workflows, the freedom to choose from a broad range of third party applications, and the freedom to choose how the information stored in the system is going to be utilized, even after its initial purpose is long forgotten. It is the flexibility, agility and openness of CCI NewsDesk that allow publishers to create an editorial environment to realize their full potential, tomorrow and tomorrow’s tomorrow.
