CCI NewsGate
Teams - Make the most of everyone by improving communication and collaboration

CCI NewsGate brings all editorial staff onto a common platform and connects those departments and desks which today are often ‘islands’ in the news flow.
Editorial staff can work together both within and across media, thereby improving communication, knowledge, efficiency and productivity.
Shared editorial workspaces within CCI NewsGate become nerve centers for news staff who work together in ‘Story Teams’ and through ‘Story Home Pages’.
All editorial staff photographers, reporters, editors, designers, graphics artists, video journalists, producers automatically become part of the story team upon assignment or by explicitly joining a story.
The Story Home Page keeps everyone in the loop. From here users can see who else is on a story team and what assignments have been allocated. There’s also an overview of content photos, copy, video clips, graphics, audio clips.
Background material, shared contacts, cross-media publication and budgeting information and the final newspaper, online and broadcast versions of the story are gathered here and stored together, right through to archiving.
Messages can be sent to some or all of a story team from ‘within’ a story. Such communication and messaging features encourage news staff to brainstorm, share and collaborate both within and across media.
Content quality is improved when editorial staff find easier and better ways to work together at an early stage in the newsgathering process. Double work is also avoided when CCI NewsGate tells you who else is working on the same or a similar story.
Knowledge, news and staff expertise are strengthened when editorial staff work in virtual teams, potentially with hitherto unknown colleagues on other desks, in other newsrooms and at other media.
